The Hognells are a range of hills forming an escarpment between the Idlewild proper and the Frugelle, much the same way that Tumblesloe Heap marks the boundary of the Naught Swathe. They possess ores of lead and copper and are also rumoured to contain silver. However as the region is ditchland or close to it, these have yet to be exploited. Nonetheless the city-states send agents to explore the Hognells in an attempt to discover the sources of these precious metals. The cothouse of Ashenstall and the Prideful Poll wayhouse may be located in the Hognells or near to them.
