An Imperial Prerogative is a mandate from the Haacobin monarch granting an individual or group limited, but often broad rights. These allow them to operate free from the influence of city-state or local authorities and may also delineate their sphere of influence. Many, but not all claves have an Imperial Prerogative: the Right of the Pacific Dove has one but the Soratchë does not. An Imperial Prerogative can even allow things which may be opposed to the empire's interests to occur unhindered. Threnody suggested using it to break her Oath of Service as a lamplighter, claiming that it superseded "simple tokens".[1]
