The Lampedusa was a great kraulshwimmen serpent and monster-lord that ruled and terrorized the Grume for a thousand years before it even received its name.
History[]
Lampedusa finally met its match at the hands of the Piltdown heldin king Tascifarnias, who challenged it on the shores where Brandenbrass now has its harbour. Armed with the mythic therimoir Paschendralle, Tascifarnias was able to kill Lampedusa while it killed him at the same time. Their mingled blood is believed to have turned the white sands black.
The great battle between man and monster was commemorated by a grand black marble fountain depicting a life-size Tascifarnias strangling Lampedusa as it pierces him with its spines. This fountain is located in a very short alley in Brandenbrass.[1]

Lampedusa (Sicilian: Lampidusa) is the largest island of the Italian Pelagie Islands in the Mediterranean Sea. It is also a genus of small, very elongate, air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Clausiliidae, the door snails, all of which have a clausilium. Both species of snail in this genus are endemic to Malta, which is east of the island Lampedusa.
