Winstermill is a massive Imperial fortress located on the western end of the Conduit Vermis. Part of Sulk End, it is the manse or headquarters for the lamplighters who are responsible for the Wormway. Rossamünd Bookchild lived and trained here as a prentice-lighter in the winter of HIR 1601 before being assigned to the cothouse of Wormstool farther east. A few months later and after he had left Imperial service, Winstermill fell to a concentrated monster attack during the Battle of Winstermill.
Design[]
The fortress was constructed in the form of a rectangle. Its main entrance faced east towards the Pettiwiggin and was accessed via a steep stone ramp named the Approach.
